A large part of our stamping business is running brake shims for the automotive industry. The shim material consists of two pieces of steel bonded together with an adhesive. Adhesive buildup on the punches and dies has always been a problem. Typically we have to stop and clean the tool every five to six thousand pieces using a silicone-based grease on the die set. Well, I tried Trick Shot® and a newly sharpened die set and, to my amazement, we ran 30,000 pieces without a stop to clean. I am sold on Trick Shot®! We will not use anything else from here on out!
